On The Spot Shop

On The Spot Buttons & More is all about producing custom buttons, badges, fridge magnets, bottle opener keychains, phone grips (Pop-Sockets), and decorative mirror backs on the spot at craft markets and other public events. However, On The Spot Buttons & More is not always at a market or public event. While not at a market or public event, you can use this site to order On The Spot Buttons & More products by browsing our pre-made designs or uploading your own design.

Pre-Designed Layouts

Browse our pre-designed layouts by visiting our SHOP🏪 pages (located in the main navigation menu), there you will find various categories to choose from. Even though the designs are already made, most still can be customized; some will allow changes to the design, some are all in black ready for you to choose the colors, and some you can add a photo (ex: borders/frames). However, you are not limited to our pre-made designs, you can browse our collection for inspiration and order an item based on your design.

New Button or Badge

Upload your completed design as a finished layout, or you provide the photo/image and we do the layout, or have us design one from scratch. You do not pay until you approve the final layout, once approved, payment is made via Email Funds Transfer before the product is produced.

Upload Image

Unless an image is not required (text only or image sourced from somewhere else), this will be the foundation of your design. How we handle the image will be outlined in the Customizations section. Note: If you have multiple photos (ex: a different photo on each product), please create a separate order for each photo/image. You can upload any gif,  jpg, or png image format directly, any other image format (ai, bmp, cdr, emf, eps, pdf, ps, svg, wmf, or wpg) has to be placed into a zip file before uploading. If you require multiple images on one product, then you will also have to place the images into a zip file before uploading (an extra layout fee may apply).

Tip: If combining more than one image into a single product; the images must have a single color background (same as the product background color) or have a transparent background or is a vector type image inorder to avoid image editing fees. There is a minimum $20 fee for editing images (ex: cutting out the background of an image).

Type

Choose what type of product you want;

2×3½-inch Rectangle Badge (pin or fridge magnet (landscape or portrait)) 
75mm Round Button (pin, fridge magnet, or mirror-back)
1¾-inch Round Button (pin, phone grip (Pop-Socket), bottle opener keychain)

Add Text

An optional very short message (up to two long words or four short words per line) can be added above and/or across and/or below the middle of the button or badge. A text field will appear for each line option you choose and one Text Preferences field for all three. Note: Adding/Removing lines will clear the Text Preferences field.

In the Text Preferences field, you can include the style (block, script, or a theme ‘ex: candycane’), color, weight (heavy, regular, light), and/or effect (3d, shadow, outline). Any text preferences omitted will allow the button artist to use his/her decreation for the omitted preferences (ex: leaving the Text Preferences field blank would allow the layout artist to decide the best design and layout for the text). You can always change this during the proofing process.

Background Color

Usually white is the default option, however, if you leave this blank, the layout artist may choose the best color for the design. Also, you can always change this during the proofing process.

Customizations

No Upload & No Added Image

    • This would be a text-only item.

Add/Resize/Position Photo/Elements

    • Use this option if adding an image via a URL and place the URL in the Details field.

Upload Finished Layout/Photo (No Editing)

    • You upload an image that comprises the entire button or badge design, we only size/position the layout to fit (if needed). If sending a bitmap image, a resolution of 300 dots per inch is recommended.
      • 75mm (~3″) Round Button
        • Your layout should be centered in an 86.3mm (~3⅜”) circle indicating the cutting edge of your button design. If the layout is smaller/larger, it will be sized proportionally to fit.
      • 44mm (1⅓”) Round Button
        • Your layout should be centered in a 54mm (~2⅛”) circle indicating the cutting edge of your button design. If the layout is smaller/larger, it will be sized proportionally to fit.
      • 50mm x 90mm (~2″x3½”) Rectangle Badge (business card size)
        • Your layout should be centered in a 63.5mm x 101.6mm (~2½x4″) rectangle (portrait or landscape) indicating the cutting edge of your badge design.

Add/Modify Photo/Elements [+$5.00] – You upload one or more images that will be incorporated into the button or badge layout/design. This will add $5.00 to the cost of the total order.

    • If uploading photographs, you want to upload the full-sized unedited version of the images (do not crop or scale).
    • When choosing/taking a photograph, you want the subject to be in the center away from the edges taking up between ⅓ – ¾ of the space of the total image.
    • You will want the subject to fit an aspect ratio of 1:1 for round buttons and the subject to fit an aspect ratio of 7:4 (~16:9) for badges.
    • Our favorite resource is Creative Fabrica, you can visit there, and choose an image yourself, just add the image URL in the details field for us to incorporate it into the design (we have the license to use Creative Fabrica images on our products).
    • If you want us to retrieve an image via a URL (that is not from one of our licensed resources*), just add the image URL in the details field for us to add it to the layout.
      * The customer is solely responsible for any requirements to use the image (ex: copyright/licenses). Product designs that use images via URL will not be kept (stored) by On The Spot Buttons & More unless we have the license/permission to do so. A good example would be a sports team logo that allows personal non-commercial use (you are commissioning On The Spot Buttons & More to make you a product with the logo that is for your personal use and not for resale).

Add Design Elements [+$10.00] – We find the designs or images that work with your button concept and incorporate them into the button or badge layout/design. This will add $10.00 to the cost of the total order. 

    • At On The Spot Buttons & More, we have access to various libraries of clipart, photos, and AI generators, you describe what you are looking for in what style (illustrative, photographic, CGI/3D, watercolor/painting) and our button artist can put together a quick layout for you.

Add Photo & Design Elements [+$15.00] – Here we combine an image provided by you and a graphic/design provided by us (ex: a photo of a pet or person with a heart design around them).

    • We have a few tricks for doing this without editing the provided photograph, however, if the photograph requires editing (ex: cutting out the background), there will be added fees if the edit is approved.

Add-ons – only one add-on can be selected per order and the price is per button or badge.

Heart Pin/Fridge Magnet

Do you remember those ‘Be Mine’ candy hearts? You can bring back the nostalgia with 2×2¼-inch heart-shaped fridge magnets or pins!

Change Text

  • No Changes – Go with the classic ‘Be Mine’
  • Change to – An optional very short message can be added to the middle of the button.
    • If selected A New Text field and a Text Preferences field will appear.
    • In the Text Preferences field, you can include the text style and color and/or determine a different layout. Leaving the Text Preferences field blank would use the default candy heart style. You can always change this during the proofing process.
  • No Text – You intend to upload a photo/image and don’t want any added text.

Background Color

  • You can choose one of the default ‘Candy Heart’ colors (Lt. Blue, Lt. Red, Lt. Green, Lt. Yellow) or name a different color. You can always change this during the proofing process.
  • If uploading a photo/image, the background color will not matter unless the image has a transparent background.

Customizations

None

    • This would be a text-only button! If adding an image via a URL, use the ‘Add/Resize/Position Photo/Elements’ option and place the URL in the Details field.

    • The face of the heart is 2¼” tall x 2″ wide, remember it is in the shape of a heart the bottom half will be cropped diagonally on the left and right and the top half will be in the shape of two circles side by side with a cloth draped over.
    • If sending a bitmap image, a resolution of 300 dots per inch is recommended.
    • You will want the image to wrap around the button edge. Have lots of background space around your image subject if you can.

Add/Resize/Position Photo/Elements [+$5.00] – You upload an image that will be incorporated into the heart button layout/design. This will add $5.00 to the cost of the total order.

Pin – Your standard pinback style button.

Note: Heart buttons due to their shape do not crimp together as tightly as a round button, please handle them with care.

Reorder (with modifications)

On The Spot Buttons & More keeps customer orders on file (unless it’s unlicensed copyrighted material), so you don’t have to reinvent the wheel when ordering more of your products. Also, with this form, you can reorder the same product, however, with different customizations. If reordering more of the same product with NO modifications, please use the original product order form and choose the reorder option. Note: product designs that use images via URL will not be kept (stored) by On The Spot Buttons & More unless we have the license/permission to do so. A good example would be a sports team logo that allows personal non-commercial use (you are commissioning On The Spot Buttons & More to make you a product with the logo that is for your personal use and not for resale).

TIP: If you were doing Employee Badges, each one would have a different name, however, you would not use a separate reorder form for each name, just include a list of the names in the details field.
  • Customizations: Minor Change (ex: name on a badge)
  • Details: Change the employee name on each badge; Janet Gospel, Geary Renn, Heidi Holland, Samantha Samuel
  • Increase the number of Badges to match to match the number of names
